Reliable service at a better value for those who serve and support our community.
Sewer repairs handled without accurate diagnostics often lead to recurring backups, unnecessary excavation, and repair costs that grow beyond the original problem. Whether you are managing a small office or a busy restaurant, our team provides the same high-level commercial plumbing support as we do for our residential customers, ensuring your facility remains fully operational.
Every sewer line issue has a specific cause, which means the repair method should match the actual condition of the pipe.
At On-Time Plumbing, we inspect the line first and recommend repairs based on pipe structure, damage location, wastewater flow, and whether the issue can be corrected without full replacement.
The main sewer line is the central pipe carrying wastewater away from the entire property.
When the main sewer line fails, wastewater from sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, and floor drains has nowhere to move, which can cause backups across the property.
Because a sewer failure can disrupt your entire day, we offer 24/7 emergency plumbing services to provide immediate relief when urgent backups or line bursts occur.
4. Repiping
Signs the main sewer line may need repair include:
A damaged sewer line does not always require tearing up the yard to fix.
No-dig trenchless sewer line repair accesses the line through existing cleanout points, restoring full function without excavating driveways, landscaping, or structures above the pipe.
This service uses one of two methods depending on what the inspection reveals:
Both methods are covered in detail below.
Leaking sewer lines can develop underground for long periods before visible symptoms appear around the property.
Wastewater leaks may lead to soft ground, foul odors, moisture near the foundation, or recurring drainage issues that continue getting worse over time.
We trace the source using:
Hidden leaks can quietly damage your home, so we perform water line repair alongside sewer diagnostics when main line leaks affect incoming supply pipes. Every sewer leak repair starts with a confirmed source.
Hydrostatic pressure, ground shifting, freezing temperatures, and severe root intrusion can fracture a sewer line without warning — wastewater backs up into the property and raw sewage surfaces fast.
Every hour without intervention compounds the contamination and drives up restoration costs. Ground movement or pipe shifts near sewer lines can also damage neighboring connections, requiring water heater repair and installation if nearby supply lines are impacted.
What we do on arrival:
Not every sewer problem originates in the main line.
Sewer drain pipes take on concentrated waste from individual fixtures daily.
That constant load makes them vulnerable to corrosion, joint separation, and root intrusion at the connection points, surfacing as a slow drain or recurring clog isolated to one area of the property. If a line is slow but hasn’t reached the point of structural failure, we utilize professional drain cleaning to remove buildup and restore proper flow before a more costly repair becomes necessary.
Our repair process includes:
When a sewer line has deteriorated across a longer section, removing and replacing it means excavating the property.
Widespread cracking, root damage at multiple points, and corrosion that has thinned the pipe wall are all conditions where cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) repair delivers a full restoration without breaking ground.
A resin-coated liner is inserted into the existing pipe and cured using heat or UV light, bonding to the interior wall and forming a continuous new pipe within the old one.
CIPP is used when:
Where CIPP rehabilitates a longer damaged section, epoxy targets specific failure points — pinholes, hairline cracks, and joint separations where the pipe wall is still largely intact.
A two-part epoxy compound is applied directly to the interior surface, curing into a hard protective layer that seals the damaged area and slows further corrosion from the inside out.
Epoxy pipe repair is used when:
Widespread corrosion, full pipe collapse, and damage spanning multiple sections of the line are conditions where repeated repairs compound costs without resolving the underlying failure.
We offer multiple replacement methods — the right one determined by the condition of the line, property layout, pipe accessibility, and extent of structural damage. When repeated camera inspections reveal a system that has deteriorated beyond simple spot repairs, we recommend full-scale repiping to replace outdated, damaged materials with modern, durable infrastructure.
Some sewer line conditions rule out trenchless methods entirely. A line that has fully collapsed loses the structural shape trenchless equipment needs to travel through.
Severe root intrusion that has crushed the pipe wall, significant ground shifting that has displaced the original pipe path, and multiple failure points spread across the full length of the line all point toward traditional replacement as the correct approach.
Where the existing pipe path is still viable, the entire sewer line gets replaced without opening a trench across the property.
Trenchless sewer line replacement pulls new piping into position along the original route — driveways, landscaping, and structures above the line stay undisturbed throughout the process.
Our team evaluates pipe condition, access points, and structural stability to confirm the line qualifies before scheduling the replacement.
Once traditional replacement is confirmed, controlled excavation exposes the full extent of the damage.
The compromised pipe is removed entirely and replaced with new sewer line materials properly graded, aligned, and connected to current code.
Our sewer line excavation process includes:
Pipe bursting replaces a severely damaged sewer line without opening a continuous trench across the property.
A hydraulic bursting head is pulled through the existing pipe, fracturing it outward while new replacement piping is drawn in behind it along the same path.
This method is recommended for:
Pipe lining restores damaged sewer piping from the inside by forming a new pipe wall within the existing line.
A resin-coated liner is inserted into the sewer pipe, inflated into position, and cured in place — creating a seamless interior surface that seals cracks and reinforces the structure without excavation.
This method is used for:
Sewer backups are usually caused by buildup, root intrusion, restricted wastewater flow, or structural problems developing inside the line.
Treating the visible backup without correcting the actual restriction often leads to the same issue returning again.
We offer the following solutions to clear the blockage and address what caused it:
When a sewer line backs up from root intrusion, grease accumulation, or compacted debris, rodding is the first-response method that clears the blockage and restores flow the same day.
A motorized auger is selected based on pipe size and blockage type, fed through the line, and driven through the obstruction while protecting the interior pipe wall.
Where rodding breaks apart blockages mechanically, pressure pumping flushes the interior walls of the sewer line using high-pressure water.
Grease accumulation, mineral scale, sludge, and sediment coating the pipe wall are cleared across the full diameter of the line.
Wastewater moves more freely after the process, and recurring backups are less likely to develop.
Routine sewer line cleaning removes accumulated debris before restrictions develop into drainage failures.
Preventive cleaning is especially important for older sewer systems, commercial properties with high drain usage, and properties with a history of recurring buildup.
Our team inspects the line during cleaning to identify developing problems early — before they require emergency service.
During municipal sewer surges, severe blockages, or flood conditions, wastewater can reverse direction and push back into the property through floor drains, toilets, and lower fixtures.
A backflow preventer is a valve installed inside the sewer line that automatically closes when reversal occurs, stopping contaminated water before it reaches the interior.
Proper placement along the line determines how effectively the valve responds — our team assesses the sewer layout before recommending the correct installation point.

I was selling my house in Tennessee and the buyers agent hired Scott's Septic Tank Service to inspect the mainline and septic tank. Scott's told the agent that there was tree root intrusion in the mainline as it discharged into the septic tank and they took a cell phone photo of the "root intrusion." I personally opened the septic tank and found it to be hair that was sticking to the edge of the mainline. My agent then contacted Scott's to ask for video proof if the mainline had a camera run down it. They adamantly said it was tree roots and no video was taken. They estimated the cost, to rip us off, to seal the mainline from future "root intrusion" at $1400 on an eight year old house with no trees nearby. I called LEY Plumbing scheduled the next day for them to run a camera. They showed up earlier than scheduled and confirmed NO ROOT INTRUSION. The crew was very professional and courteous. We highly recommend them for service because they are honest. The photo was taken by Scott's Septic Tank Service.Posted on Google![]()
