When your water heater fails, the quality of the repair or installation determines whether the problem comes back.
Persistent running or weak flushing in nearby fixtures often points to underlying toilet repair issues that affect overall home water pressure.
Here is what sets On-Time Plumbing apart:
At On-Time Plumbing, we handle hot water heater repair across all system types — tank, tankless, electric, gas, solar, and hybrid.
Every repair starts with evaluating heating performance, pressure conditions, fuel or electrical delivery, and internal component condition to confirm the exact failure point, including checking for sediment buildup that may require professional drain cleaning to restore optimal system flow.
Tank systems store and reheat water continuously — that constant cycle accelerates sediment accumulation, element wear, and corrosion inside the tank faster than most homeowners expect.
Tank water heater repair typically involves one or more of these:
Heavy sediment in the tank often means the same mineral buildup is restricting drain lines — drain cleaning addresses both at the source.
Tankless units heat water only when a fixture demands it — the heat exchanger, ignition system, and flow sensors carry the full load of every hot water request.
Scale buildup inside the heat exchanger is the most common cause of temperature instability, particularly in areas with mineral-heavy water.
While repairing tankless water heaters, we descale the heat exchanger, inspect ignition and burner operation, test gas pressure and flow rate, check venting conditions, and diagnose sensor and control board issues until stable on-demand output is restored.
Electric systems rely on two heating elements cycling in sequence. When the upper element burns out, the lower element overworks — hot water runs out faster than normal, and recovery slows down noticeably.
Our electric water heater repair process tests both elements for continuity, measures voltage under load, inspects thermostats for calibration drift, and checks wiring, breakers, and grounding until both elements are confirmed cycling correctly.
Gas systems depend on precise combustion — the thermocouple, gas control valve, and burner assembly all need to work together for reliable ignition and stable temperature. A single worn component disrupts the entire combustion cycle.
Gas water heater repair covers:
Solar systems transfer heat from roof-mounted collectors to the storage tank through a circulation loop.
When flow slows or sensors stop communicating accurately, the collectors gather heat that never reaches the water. The system appears to be working while hot water output quietly drops.
For systems where the collector loop runs through walls, crawlspaces, or enclosed pipe runs, sewer camera inspection gives us a direct view of internal flow conditions without opening finished surfaces.
During solar water heater repair, we;
Hybrid systems pull heat from the surrounding air and use electric elements only as backup.
When the heat pump loses airflow, or the compressor weakens, the backup elements run constantly — energy costs climb while hot water output stays the same.
The problem reads like an electrical issue, but hybrid water heater repair starts with the heat pump.
We inspect compressor performance, test airflow conditions around the unit, check condensate drainage, and evaluate backup element cycling until the system returns to efficient balanced operation.
Emergency water heater repair covers failures that cut off hot water or cause active damage to the surrounding property.
Major line blockages or structural pipe damage may require comprehensive sewer line repair to maintain proper system drainage. On-Time responds same-day to the most common water heater emergencies — here is what we handle:
When severe sediment, sudden component failures, or unexpected tank bursts trigger active leaks, our 24/7 emergency plumbing services are available for immediate dispatch to contain water damage and restore your system.
We install and replace tank and tankless water heater systems for homes and businesses — every system sized to actual demand, configured for the property, and tested before sign-off.
Tank water heater installation starts with selecting the correct capacity and confirming that the plumbing, electrical, or gas connections support the system safely.
Our process covers:
If the existing line feeding the heater shows corrosion, reduced flow, or connection failure during inspection, water line repair is completed before installation begins so the new system operates at full capacity from day one.
Tankless water heater installation requires gas supply capacity, venting configuration, and flow rate balancing to support consistent on-demand output before the unit goes in.
Our process includes:
Replacement becomes the more reliable solution when the system can no longer maintain consistent performance.
We recommend replacing your water heaters when:
Our team matches the replacement system to the property’s actual hot water usage and fuel type before installation begins.
When corroded supply connections or deteriorated pipe are found during removal, we evaluate whether repiping is the more practical solution before the new system goes in.

I was selling my house in Tennessee and the buyers agent hired Scott's Septic Tank Service to inspect the mainline and septic tank. Scott's told the agent that there was tree root intrusion in the mainline as it discharged into the septic tank and they took a cell phone photo of the "root intrusion." I personally opened the septic tank and found it to be hair that was sticking to the edge of the mainline. My agent then contacted Scott's to ask for video proof if the mainline had a camera run down it. They adamantly said it was tree roots and no video was taken. They estimated the cost, to rip us off, to seal the mainline from future "root intrusion" at $1400 on an eight year old house with no trees nearby. I called LEY Plumbing scheduled the next day for them to run a camera. They showed up earlier than scheduled and confirmed NO ROOT INTRUSION. The crew was very professional and courteous. We highly recommend them for service because they are honest. The photo was taken by Scott's Septic Tank Service.Posted on Google![]()
